The MMA Signing That Could Have Been Commentary
Fedor In The UFC Is What The Hardcore MMA Fans Want

Dana White gets a lot of negative commentary regarding his views on Fedor Emelianenko, whom many regard as the greatest Heavyweight ever in the sport of mixed martial arts. He's never publicly admitted how good he is, and was never seen really pushing for him to be in the UFC. Well, all that change. It appears Dana White with his partners offered Fedor the deal of the century to bring Fedor in the UFC (with an instant matchup for the heavyweight belt against Brock Lesnar) Dana went as far as bending the rules to please the great Fedor and his team. But, nothing worked. Fedor won't sign. Dana tried (he really, really did)

So Why Won't Fedor Sign?

M-1 (the team that is currently representing Fedor) wants the UFC to co-promote brand at the ufc event. Anyone in their right mind knows that would never happen. It's like the search engine Ask.com asking google to partner up for a little while and split the profits? Ok, a child would not be so unreasonable as the M-1 global team.

Other possible reason?

Many have speculated that Fedor is actually afraid to fight Brock Lesnar. Ok, if we take this argument, then he would avoid the octagon so he could retire in a few years with a near flawless record. A loss to Lesnar would ruin his legacy. This could or could not be true. Seeing some of his previous oponents (just go to youtube, there are many highlight reels of Fedor), one could argue that he is not afraid of anyone.

Conclusion

My personal advice is this. Fedor, you have thousands of dedicated hardcore fans around the world. Don't dissapoint them. Many of these fans would pay 2-3 times the cost of a typical pay per view to watch you fight. It is better to keep fighting only the best opponents and accept a loss if that happens, then to keep fighting washed up, mediocore fighters and keep your mma record in tact.
